Chances are, you've heard her voice.

After hundreds of recording sessions, from solo artist to jingles, from jazz to pop and everything else in between, Camille Filfiley has established herself as a first call studio pro. In addition, her live performances have excited many an audience in the New York area.

Her current CD, titled simply "Camille Filfiley", is a collection of timeless jazz standards performed with a style and phrasing truly unique and remarkable. Legendary sax player and multi Grammy-award winning artist Michael Brecker said of the CD: "Camille is a wonderful singer with her own sound."

Camille began her professional career in her teens living on Long Island, New York, with frequent performances at Manhattan's Catch a Rising Star and The Improv. While her session work at that time consisted mostly of jingles and demos, her live performances were more jazz oriented. After a brief tour of Canada, she formed her own jazz/funk group Night Shift, which earned a loyal following on Long Island. During her stay with Night Shift, Camille had the opportunity to sit in with legendary drummers Louis Bellson and Billy Cobham.

Several years later, Camille was "discovered" by another Grammy- winning artist and producer, Eumir Deodato, while they were both guests on a local cable TV program. Deodato was impressed with her voice enough to feature Camille as lead vocalist on nearly half the songs on his next Warner Brothers record "Motion". His decision paid off; the first single showcased Camille's lead vocals on the slow funk song "Are You For Real" and spent 12 weeks on the Billboard Dance charts while hitting number one in New York. The next single, "SOS, Fire In The Sky", again fronted by Camille, lasted 14 weeks on the Billboard charts and also became a top ten pop song in both France and Holland.

The following few years found her busy working the NY and Florida dance club circuits promoting both songs, appearing with some of the top artists in dance and funk. Camille continued to work the clubs afterwards to support several dance records she released as a solo artist for both Island Records and Mic Mac Records.

From there it was back to work full time in the studios, staying busy doing jingles (including several for Coca Cola) and various lead and background vocals on numerous recordings. One of those was a remake of "Are You For Real" by TKA on the hit album 'Louder Than Love' that again featured Camille and was performed live on the TV program 'Showtime At The Apollo'. Three years later, when Tommy Boy artist K7 needed a vocalist for his song "Come Baby Come", Camille got the call. The song became a top 20 smash on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and quickly went gold. "Come Baby Come" eventually earned Camille three more gold records; first for K7's album "Swing Batta Swing", then for the compilations "MTV Party To Go Volume 5" and "Jock Jams Volume 1", which also became Camille's first multi-platinum success with 2 million units sold.

Her studio work continues to this day, her talents often being utilized by top producers, most notably Ric Wake (Mariah Carey, Celine Dion) and Tony Moran (Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson ). Early in 1999 Camille relocated to Manhattan, and is currently recording her new album featuring some of the top session musicians in New York City (see News page).
